A leading healthcare provider is seeking a locum consultant cardiologist with a subspecialty interest in heart failure. The role involves patient management, leading inpatient rounds, and collaboration with colleagues at Whittington Hospital. Essential qualifications include a degree in medicine and accredited subspecialty training in heart failure. Competitive salary offered between £109,725 and £145,478 per annum.
FIXED-TERM LOCUM CONSULTANT CARDIOLOGIST with a subspecialty interest in HEART FAILURE. Applications are invited for the post of locum consultant cardiologist with subspecialty interest in heart failure, on a full-time (10 PAs) one-year fixed-term basis.
The appointee will join a vibrant and innovative cardiology department based at the Whittington Hospital that has been the recipient of UK Customer Service Excellence Award for its clinical services.
The appointee must be accredited in Cardiology and be on the GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Specialist Register.
A subspecialty interest in heart failure is a requirement for this post. There is no requirement for on-calls in general (internal) medicine, but this can be accommodated in the job plan for a qualified appointee.
The successful candidate will collaborate in patient management with clinicians at Whittington Health and work closely with colleagues working in cardiology, acute/general medicine and in the wider community.
It is a clear aim of the service to reduce local waiting times for a cardiovascular opinion and to ensure high-quality inpatient care of patients with cardiovascular conditions, particularly heart failure.
It is the intention of the cardiology department to recruit a permanent full-time consultant cardiologist with subspecialty interest in heart failure within the next 12 months.
