A healthcare provider in Birmingham is inviting applications for the role of Locally Employed Doctor. This position offers training in core medical competencies required for General Medicine or ACCS. Candidates must possess a Medical Degree, be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and have at least 2 years of UK clinical experience. The post is full-time and on a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months with a salary range of £44,439 to £52,656 based on experience.
UHB has a highly successful Locally Employed Doctor (LED) training programme, introduced in 2008 and now invites applications for core training in medical specialities. Appointable candidates will be aligned with vacancies either immediately or from August 2026 depending on numbers.
Following a highly acclaimed Emergency/Acute Medicine programme UHB have now launched our LED Core Training Programme. The programme is aimed at training doctors in the competencies required for the successful completion of core training in General Medicine or ACCS. The posts include training in all the competencies required by the respective Royal College for either core medical training, ACCS training or core surgical training and includes rotational placements in key medical specialties as a rotational LED.

The rotation will be based at either QEHB or Heartlands/Good Hope/Solihull hospitals.
