Job description
Responsibilities
  • Operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level.
  • Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
  • Perform the required maintenance tasks on mobile & fixed plant, including greasing and keeping equipment clean.
  • Report any defects noted to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
  • Dispatch and control the quality of product.
  • Follow plant GPS to alter ground to required levels.
  • Carry out any other duties relating to the quarry as requested by a supervisor/manager.
  • Accurately record working hours on timesheets; submit weekly.
  • Log all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and ensure logs are documented correctly.
  • Inform quarry management of any materials deemed unsuitable for production.
  • Understand company procedures for breakdowns to act swiftly and minimise downtime.
  • Highlight any training requirements to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that does not endanger oneself or others.
  • Act professionally at all times as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
  • Maintain a good standard of site cleanliness to minimise potential hazards.
  • Regularly be in contact with site management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant plant operator licences.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks.

  • Use of mobile phone apps.
Desirable
  • Basic computer literacy (use of emails, etc.).
Compensation & Working Hours

Working Hours: Monday - Friday between 6am - 6pm, Saturdays as required. Overtime available.

Pay: Dependent on experience.

Bonus: Performance and Attendance £50 per week.
