Job description

To work manually as part of a crew to collect all waste and recycling as directed, in line with the contract specification, delivering services on behalf of Cheshire West Recycling.

Responsibilities
  • Follow our health and safety procedures and existing regulations regarding vehicle, sites, wearing of uniform and as PPE issued.
  • Complete all operational work to a high standard and to the satisfaction of your supervisors.
  • Act as a reversing assistant in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle when required.
  • Ensure that all duties are carried out correctly and safely when loading waste/recycling and spillages are cleared up immediately.
  • Create a good working relationship with managers, supervisors, and other colleagues, working as part of a team and, if required, independently.
  • Ensure that all allocated works are completed within the notified timescales and that you attend morning and end of day debrief.
  • Assist the driver in updating the PDA tablet during the working day, ensuring that any waste/recycling not presented at the allocated point is recorded.
  • Assist the driver in carrying out and recording of routine maintenance, daily checks, defect reports, and vehicle washing.
  • Support in achieving our business objectives and complying with all procedures in line with ISO accreditations.
  • Manage your own professional development to continually learn and complete relevant raining specific to your role, to build resilience and manage and maintain personal wellbeing.
  • Reflect our values through your actions and behaviours.
Notes

Crews generally operate Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend working.

From time to time, you may need to undertake work as determined by your supervisor up to or at a level consistent with your role.

Cheshire West Recycling operates across several locations, and you will be expected to work flexibly across all locations in line with business requirements.
