Job description

This lovely family based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is seeking a Live-in Nanny Housekeeper to care for their home and their baby, who is due in June. The ideal candidate must speak Japanese. The role includes all general nanny and housekeeping duties. The family would like the candidate to start before the baby arrives to become familiar with the household and integrate smoothly into the role. Both parents work, so they are looking for an experienced and flexible candidate to assist with their first child. The household includes a cat and a dog, although no pet care is required. A driver with experience in both automatic and manual vehicles is essential, and a valid first aid qualification is required for this position.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 8 hours a day. Flexible.

Accommodation: Separate apartment on the property.

Duties include:

• Preparing healthy meals and snacks appropriate for the baby.
• Bathing and maintaining proper hygiene for the baby.
• Changing nappies and keeping the baby clean and comfortable.
• Helping with the bedtime routine, including putting the baby to sleep.
• Engaging the baby in age‑appropriate play and developmental activities.
• Taking the baby on walks or to baby‑friendly playdates.
• Doing the baby’s laundry and ironing as needed.
• Keeping the baby’s bedroom and play areas clean, organised, and safe.
• Cleaning and sterilising bottles, utensils, and toys.
• Supporting the baby’s early milestones (e.g., tummy time, crawling, walking).
• Monitoring the baby’s health, well‑being, and daily routines.
