Level 3 Childcare (CCLD) Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Position

Teaching Personnel are excited to announce an opportunity for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning, and Development (or equivalent). This full-time role is based at an SEN school in Ystrad Mynach, catering to pupils aged 3-19 with diverse needs, including physical disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours, and speech and language difficulties.

Position Details:

Rate: £89.38 per day

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

Location: Ystrad Mynach

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the class teacher, support staff, and parents to provide optimal support for the pupils.
• Foster strong working relationships with pupils in small groups or one-on-one settings to aid their academic and social development.
• Demonstrate proactivity and resilience, adapting to challenging situations with ease.
• Employ a positive and engaging approach to support children with special educational needs.
• Uphold and exemplify the school's core values: Independence, Opportunity, Sustainability, and Wellbeing.
• Assist the class teacher in lesson planning and tailoring lessons to meet individual pupil needs.
• Be prepared to undertake personal care duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council
• Two previous employment references
• Completion of Safeguarding Level 2 training
