Teaching Assistant – Level 2 30 hours per week (term time only plus 5 days)

£25,584-£25,989 per year (pro‑rata £17,902.68‑£18,186.08), permanent, starting as soon as possible.

Overview

South Wigston High School, an 11‑16 school on the outskirts of Leicester, is expanding its learning support team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our SEND team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with supervision and interaction of learners in lessons.
  • Assist in assessment and review of learners’ progress and statement review meetings.
  • Support the teacher in the classroom and use strategies manage learner behaviour.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, evaluation and implementation, alongside and supported by the teacher.
  • Monitor learners’ achievement, objectives, general care, safety and welfare.
