Job description
Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team at a Primary School in Handsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils across all year groups.
  • Work closely with children with SEND needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), to ensure they can access learning effectively.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Support individual pupils and small groups with their learning.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
  • Possesses experience or understanding of working with children with SEND, including SEMH needs.
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children’s educational and personal development.
  • Holds a valid DBS certificate (or is willing to complete a new enhanced criminal conviction check).
  • Is able to commit to the hours of 8:15am–3:45pm, Monday to Friday.
