Lending Operations Associate, Principal Finance

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance is the principal financing and investing arm of Macquarie, we provide flexible primary and secondary solutions and engage in secondary market investing across the capital structure. Macquarie Capital Principal Finance has invested over EUR55bn since early 2008. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Macquarie Capital’s Principal Finance Operations team in London.

What role will you play?

You will be part of a team that is responsible for the operational management, from pre‑settlement to maturity, of a varied investment portfolio of debt and equity transactions across a wide range of industries in both the corporate and real estate sectors. Working closely with key internal stakeholders, including front office, risk, finance and legal teams, you’ll coordinate the systems setup, settlement and ongoing management for transactions whilst ensuring that our risk management framework, policies and procedures are met.

This will involve:

  • Primary and secondary loan settlement, booking and ongoing administration in LoanIQ
  • Day‑to‑day management of a portfolio of bilateral and syndicated debt and equity positions
  • Ability to navigate loan documentation to facilitate deal booking
  • Funding and management of deal cash flows
  • Submitting KYC requests and involvement in conflict checks
  • Processing loan utilizations, rollovers, interest payments (cash and PIK), repayments and prepayments
  • Management of borrower covenants and information undertakings
  • Settling secondary loan trades both manually and via Clearpar
What you offer
  • You bring a strong academic record including tertiary qualifications in an accounting / economics / finance / business discipline.
  • Previous experience in loan administration, which has equipped you with sound organisational and time management skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively to meet tight deadlines and follow tasks through to completion.
  • At least a first experience working with Loan IQ or with an equivalent corporate loan management system.
  • Strong numerical skills, Excel skills, the ability to problem solve and an understanding of loan management.
