Due to consistent growth of the business, this expanding and well established company is actively seeking a good calibre, flexible and multi‑skilled Legionella Risk Assessor/Water Treat Engineer/Plumber to cover various contracts in or around the Glasgow area and will include applications from South Lanarkshire, East Kilbride and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications & Experience

• Attended an approved Risk Assessment course – City & Guilds and has previous working knowledge of ACOP L8 and significant experience of carrying out L8 risk assessments within the water treatment/Water Hygiene industry – ideally from a Legionella Consultancy background.
• Hands on experience on water treatment engineering, legionella risk assessing and plumbing.
• Good working knowledge of chemical treatment of cooling towers, steam boilers, etc.
• Good working knowledge of commercial water systems, supplies and water regulations governing these.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Key Responsibilities & Aspects of the Role

• Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold water systems, tanks clean, chlorination, refurbishment & disinfections, etc.
• Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems and interpreting the results.
• Building a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
• Ensuring work is completed within time frame and dealing with issues effectively.
• Carrying out any plumbing work as and when required.
• Visiting various sites as per client’s requirement.
• Carrying out Legionella risk assessments in line with ACOP L8 risk assessments.
• Compiling schematic drawings, as well as producing final documents for clients/customers.
• Providing recommendations and prices for remedial works, routine control measures through maintenance regimes, quotations, and carrying out such works based on the risk assessment.
• Carrying out monthly temperature testing and water sampling.
• Carrying out survey of water systems and supplies as per ACOP L8.
• Collating and producing comprehensive reports and attending meetings with clients to discuss findings of reports.
