Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join a well‑established water treatment/water hygiene company who offer a wide range of water services throughout the UK. The company are currently seeking an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Legionella Risk Assessor/Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team based in the Glasgow area. The ideal candidate will hold experience undertaking Legionella Risk Assessments, disinfection of mains water tanks, temperature monitoring and water sampling. Applications from Dundee, Edinburgh, East Lothian, and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications / Experience
  • Must come from strong water treatment / legionella background and must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Will ideally hold either the City and Guild or WMSoc Legionella Risk Assessment qualification.
  • Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
  • Hold a proven track record of undertaking legionella risk assessment to a varied site base.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Packages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments.
  • Disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
  • Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
  • Undertaking Legionella Compliance duties.
  • Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
  • Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.

Overall, the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible, and reliable and can work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirement.
