Your opportunity for impact:

NetDocuments is seeking a Legal AI Value Engineer to be a key driver of client success in adopting and expanding AI-powered legal technology. This individual contributor role is ideal for a legal tech or legal operations professional who thrives at the intersection of law, AI, and client engagement. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor, technical expert, and strategic partner to our clients—translating complex legal problems into scalable, AI-enabled solutions.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role that requires strong communication skills, deep curiosity, and the ability to engage with both legal professionals and technical stakeholders. You will also serve as a conduit between customers and internal teams, influencing our product roadmap with real-world insights.

What your contributions will be
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with legal ops leaders, attorneys, technologists, and innovation teams.
  • Lead discovery sessions and workshops to uncover business and legal needs, and match them with AI capabilities.
  • Deliver high-impact product demos and hands-on sessions tailored to legal workflows—showcasing advanced AI functionality with confidence and clarity.
  • Drive adoption and enablement through onboarding, customized training, and ongoing advisory conversations.
  • Serve as a technical translator between client goals and AI-powered legal solutions.
  • Maintain a strong, evolving understanding of AI concepts—including natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and generative AI—and their application in legal use cases (e.g., contract analysis, summarization, clause extraction, redlining).
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to provide actionable feedback, validate features in beta, and ensure client needs are reflected in the roadmap.
  • Be comfortable explaining the "how" behind the technology to legal professionals, without relying on jargon, and helping technical stakeholders understand legal nuance.
  • Co-develop business cases, ROI models, and proof points that show how AI adoption improves speed, accuracy, and efficiency across legal workflows.
  • Help clients define, measure, and report on success metrics tied to platform usage and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Account Management, and Sales to ensure continuity across the client journey—from pilot through expansion.
  • Identify new use cases and help scale platform engagement within legal departments or firms.
  • Serve as a key advisor on operationalizing AI within client legal ecosystems.
  • Develop and share internal and external best practices, training content, and solution guides to support repeatable success.
  • Stay ahead of trends in legal AI, legal operations, compliance tech, and adjacent innovation spaces.
  • Contribute to webinars, blogs, or client roundtables as a subject matter expert in legal AI enablement and strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
  • 3+ Legal experience (law firm, in-house counsel, or legal operations) with a strong grasp of legal workflows and challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative, customer-facing role—such as solution engineering, value consulting, or implementation advisory.
  • High technical aptitude and natural curiosity—comfortable learning, using, and explaining advanced software and AI systems.
  • Understanding of core AI and machine learning concepts (e.g., NLP, LLMs, classification, semantic search)—with the ability to confidently discuss how AI works, even with technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills across audiences—able to distill complexity, guide conversations, and gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple accounts, timelines, and enablement programs simultaneously.
  • Business acumen to support ROI conversations, value modeling, and solution justification.
Ideally you will have
  • Exposure to SaaS products in legal, compliance, or regulated industries.
  • Prior experience in legal innovation, knowledge management, or product design within law firms or corporate legal departments.
  • Technical certifications, AI coursework, or prior work with platforms using NLP/ML technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI rollouts or contributing to legal transformation initiatives.
  • 90% healthcare premiums company covered
  • HSA company contribution
  • 401K match at 4% with immediate vesting
  • Flexible PTO (typically 3 to 4 weeks a year)
  • 10 paid holidays
  • Monthly contributions for wellness
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning with monthly dedicated time to explore
