A leading legal recruitment firm is looking for a Legal Counsel – Regulatory to support a prominent energy sector client. This hybrid role allows candidates to be based in London, Bristol, or travel to Warwick regularly. Responsibilities include providing legal guidance on public and regulatory law and understanding relevant legislation. Ideal candidates are UK qualified Solicitors or Barristers with up to 4 years of PQE, aiming to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
Our client is a leader within the energy sector who is seeking a Legal Counsel – Regulatory to join their organisation. In this broad role you will provide comprehensive advice on public and regulatory legal support and work on a wide variety of energy related matters. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, high-quality legal support across a wide spectrum of matters. This is a hybrid role so the successful candidate can be based in London, Bristol or with good access to travel to Warwick on a semi-regular basis.
As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for providing legal support to the business. Key responsibilities will include providing advice on public and regulatory law and working on a wide variety of energy related matters. You will develop an expert understanding of relevant primary and secondary legislation, particularly the Electricity Act 1989. In addition to an expert understanding of the licence conditions and related regulatory obligations to be complied with and a general understanding of the regulatory finance framework, specifically Ofgem’s RIIO price control framework.
