About the Role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel, Transactions to join our legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will be the Matter Labs in‑house legal advisor for a broad range of product, commercial, corporate, and compliance matters. Primary work will involve partnering with our engineering team on products, handling simple vendor contracts, NDAs, and cross‑border commercial agreements, and working on global IP, privacy, and employment matters.

You are a flexible and creative thinker with a pragmatic business mindset and solution‑oriented approach to delivering legal services. You are willing to learn new areas of the law, have strong integrity and ethics, and want to be part of a low‑ego, high‑performance company. This is a 100% remote position (optional travel to events) open to East Coast U.S., EU, and UK based candidates.

What You'll Be Doing

• Product Counsel – Provide expert advice on product development, privacy, data protection, and intellectual property matters.
• Commercial and Corporate Agreements – Review simple agreements, negotiate, and draft commercial agreements and technology transactions.
