Job summary

A prominent legal consultancy in Chorley is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its in-house team. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in construction law, particularly with JCT and NEC contracts, and the ability to manage a varied workload in a dynamic environment. This full-time position offers hybrid/remote working flexibility and includes a competitive salary of £70,000-£75,000 plus car and bonus.

We're seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with solid construction law expertise to join a growing in-house legal team. This is a fantastic role for someone with strong knowledge of construction contracts who enjoys working closely with commercial and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on construction contracts including JCT, NEC and bespoke agreements
  • Support live project teams across procurement, delivery, risk and disputes
  • Draft, negotiate and review a range of construction and commercial contracts
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance across all project activity
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor with proven construction law experience
  • In-house background preferred but will review applicants from a Private Practice background
  • Strong knowledge of JCT / NEC contracts
  • Confident advising commercial teams and project managers
  • Able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
