About the job Legal Assistant / Paralegal Family

Overview
The firm is seeking a dedicated and organised Legal Assistant to support Fee Earners in the Family Law department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance, ensuring the smooth progression of client matters in line with the firms professional standards and commitment to excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client matters efficiently using the firms case management system (Proclaim), ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
  • Prepare, organise, and archive legal files and supporting documentation.
  • Manage diaries and coordinate appointments, meetings, and court dates for Fee Earners.
  • Draft and prepare client correspondence through audio typing, word processing, and digital dictation.
  • Handle client and third-party enquiries by phone and email in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, photocopying, and other administrative tasks.
  • Prepare court documentation, including electronic bundles (e-bundling).
  • Use the online divorce portal to accurately upload and manage documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of client bills and management of account ledgers.
  • Provide support to other legal assistants and members of the management team as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a Family Law department is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise workload effectively.
  • High level of IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and case management systems (Proclaim experience preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Attentionto detail and accuracy in document preparation and data management.
