Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient file management including adherence to timescales, compliance with precedents, letters or documents on the case management system with appropriate supervision. Progress all files proactively towards settlement in an efficient manner, including management of inactivity, complaints etc.
- Ensure financial aspects of matters including billing, are managed to enable achievement of their KPIs. Sets own goals to achieve their KPIs.
- Secure relevant medical reports and review and value appropriately in accordance with company guidelines, Judicial College Guidelines, Case law etc. as relevant.
- Obtain the clients Schedule of Loss and any evidence required to support a claim.
- Prepare cases appropriately for litigation and any hearings, directions etc. and provide post settlement case steps, including the release of files to the enforcement team.
- Minimise write offs and case closures due to AWOL clients and pro-active housekeeping including prompt closure of files, dealing with ledger enquiries and processing write offs.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of drafting of legal documents, in particular, court documents, preparing schedules, creating files, proofreading and briefing counsel. Researches and applies an understanding of the law within own Practice Group.
- Demonstrate extensive experience of RTA file handling and a thorough understanding of the Claimant claims process with prior litigation experience (as applicable to the role).
- Manage and prioritise workload with a track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Previous experience of running RTA fast track cases and Part 8 and MOJ processes where required.
- Ability to assess and review medical reports from various disciplines.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant practice and business IT/case management systems.
- Experience of managing cases within the relevant area of expertise, depending on role seniority.
