Job summary

Salary - £ 21,966.47 actual salary
Hours - 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
Contract - Permanent
Location - Peterborough

Do you have a passion for helping young people thrive? Are you committed to supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential? We’re looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to join our dedicated support team at Peterborough College, part of the Inspire Education Group. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide one‑to‑one and small group support for students with SEND, helping them gain the skills and confidence to progress through their study programmes – and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support sessions, helping students develop independence and self‑management strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff and support teams to deliver a tailored, graduated approach to support.
  • Help ensure Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes are met, preparing students for adulthood and the next steps in education or employment.
  • Use assistive technologies and digital tools to enhance learning and promote independence.
  • Set, track, and review SMART targets to help learners progress towards their academic and personal goals.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, support planning, and exam access arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate records aligned to ALS (Additional Learning Support) funding.
  • Signpost learners to internal and external services, working closely with the Wellbeing and Safeguarding Teams.

Experience with EHCPs, exam access arrangements, or working across multi‑disciplinary teams would be an advantage, but full training and support will be provided.
