Learning Support Assistant - Stephenson College

The Learning Support team are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join them in providing a range of high-quality support to learners with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting learners across a range of courses from Entry level to Level 3 / A Level who have learning difficulties and disabilities, including Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impairments, Visual Impairments and Physical Impairments.
  • Providing in‑class support and online support to individuals and groups, which includes notetaking, assisting with personal care and mobility support.
  • Ensuring learners receive individualized assistance aligned with their needs.

Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 12 months of experience working with young people.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • At least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

You should have a flexible, can‑do approach, be committed to teamwork, and have a positive attitude towards all learners. Excellent communication skills will enable you to work effectively with a range of students and staff.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake further training where identified.

This is a term‑time only role working 36 weeks throughout the year.
