Learning Support Assistant - Brockenhurst / Lymington area - Temp to Perm Contract - Jan start!

Academics are seeking an experienced and engaging Learning Support Assistant to join an SEN School in the New Forest area in between Brockenhurst and Lymington. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent contract starting in January.

Working hours are 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday–Thursday and 8.30am – 4pm on a Friday. This is a term‑time role working 39 weeks of the year, paying 13.68 per hour.

The school caters for pupils aged 7–19 years who are diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and other associated needs on the autistic spectrum. You will be required to support pupils across the school in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

The suitable Learning Support Assistant will have experience of supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within an SEN environment. You will be empathetic, nurturing, be able to manage varying levels of challenging behaviour and have the ability to think on your feet and adapt to situations.

This is a challenging environment to work in, but also very rewarding. Children who attend this school do display various levels of challenging behaviour combined with other complex needs. This role is suited to someone who enjoys the variation of working in this type of environment and with a passion and love for working with and supporting children with special educational needs.

You will be joining an experienced, very supportive team of senior leaders, teachers, and support staff and will be provided with the necessary training.
