Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work as part of a wider disciplinary team, offering educational and therapeutic support in a young person's home, as part of a bespoke EOTAS package based in Horsham, West Sussex.

The role would be ideally suited to an individual with extensive experience of working with SEND adolescences outside of a school environment. You will be responsible for mentoring the student, therefore a strong understanding in Attention Hyper Deficit Disorder (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and Autism (ASD) is essential.

What you will be responsible for
  • Providing low-demand, educational support for up to 15 hours per week, within school hours (09:00 to 15:00), Monday to Friday, term time only.
  • Work within a low-demand, interest-led, and emotionally safe environment.
  • Assist in engagement, emotional regulation, and adapting to the changing needs of the individual you are supporting.
  • Collaborate with tutors, therapists, and the wider team to ensure the provision is delivered as per the young person's EHCP.
  • Accompany the student on outings and to community-based activities as required.
  • Support learning through play-based and therapeutic approaches, using a child-led approach.
What we are looking for

  • Willingness to work flexibly as of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and family.
  • Comfortable working in a home-based and community setting.
