Job description

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Contract: GAP Year (fixed for a year) OR Permanent role,

Working Weeks: 39 working weeks (term time plus inset days)

Hours: 26 hours 40 minutes

Salary: Scale 3 points 5 -6. Depending on years' service, actual salary will be £15,809- £16,060 pa

Start Date: 2 February 2026

Closing Date: 12 Noon 9th January 2026

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring and energetic person to join our Learning Support Faculty. The team are dedicated, positive and friendly. You should be approachable, patient and understanding to support identified students with special educational needs and/or disabilities to enable them to access the curriculum. You will Many of our Learning support assistants have had the opportunity to progress into Teaching with our Teacher Training schemes.

Responsibilities
  • Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task
  • Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
