Overview

We provide a wide range of courses for Coventry residents age 19+ with provision targeted at people with the highest levels of need. We offer long courses in English, maths, ESOL, ICT/Digital and vocational subjects such as Early Years, plus provision for adults with learning disabilities. We also deliver a very wide range of short community courses in arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, fitness and family learning, and run a supportive study programme for young people. Our work-based learning includes Apprenticeships in Nursery Workers, Teaching Assistants, Leadership/Management and Customer Care. We also provide courses for adults seeking work via the Council’s Job Shop. Our main base is Southfields Old School, CV1 5EJ, with provision at around 25 other sites within Coventry, mostly in areas of highest need. Job role

Are you a natural leader who enjoys helping others succeed? We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our growing Learner Services Team. You’ll work alongside three other team leaders to support curriculum staff and ensure learners have a smooth and positive experience. You will lead a team that focuses on supporting a specific curriculum area and help coordinate administrative tasks across the wider service, including supporting classes at various venues across the city and offering initial advice and guidance to learners who are looking to enrol. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.

Who we are looking for
  • Leads by example, is highly organised, and can manage a busy and varied workload.
  • Flexible to work in different locations and times, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Confident in managing and developing staff to help them grow and perform at their best.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external stakeholders.
Recruitment and checks
  • Following Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) recommendations, an online check may form part of the recruitment process.
  • Right to Work in the UK required; no sponsorship available.
  • DBS check is a condition of appointment under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
