Overview

Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Darlington

• RCVS accredited hospital in Darlington offering orthopaedics, dentistry, gum disease treatment, dermatology, endoscopy, ultrasound, and x-rays

Responsibilities

• Direct the practice and its staff to provide the best possible care to clients and pets
• Engage in the running of the practice and be rewarded for its success
• Manage sales performance, budget, and overall profitability on a day-to-day basis
• Ensure all team members provide high-quality care to all patients
• Assess, examine, diagnose medical issues, perform surgery, prescribe medication, and maintain patient records
• Support the professional and nurturing environment for staff and patients

Facility Details

• Main hospital with services in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, dentistry, gum disease treatment, dermatology, endoscopy, ultrasound, and x-rays
• Separate Cats and Exotics Clinic providing a stress-free environment for cats and exotic species
• Third clinic offering outpatient surgical procedures and consultations
• Gold status ISFM Cat Clinic acknowledgement for feline-friendly practices

Qualifications & Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS and registered with the RCVS
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage practice protocols and procedures
• Willingness to engage in leadership and practice development

Visas & Sponsorship

• Supports Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if criteria are met and eligible to register with the RCVS on arrival in the UK

Rota

• Full time – 4 day week
• Weekend work on a fair rota with time off in lieu
• 12 month fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover)
