Qualifications

  • Maintain HCPC registration and adhere to professional guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the assessment of referrals and provide initial assessments.
  • Undertake high quality direct and indirect psychological interventions.
  • Formulate and implement specialist psychological treatment plans.
  • Maintain high standards of care in accordance with HCPC guidelines.

Job description
Overview

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Lead Psychologist to work in an exceptional psychiatric inpatient service based in the Exeter, Devon area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers. The service is a purpose-built facility, providing specialist care for adults with acute mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service
  • Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions
  • Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods
  • Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise
  • Professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care
  • Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures
Qualifications / Requirements
  • To be considered for this position you must have BPS recognised psychology degrees + HCPC registered
  • Maintain HCPC registration and adherence to professional guidelines
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
  • Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting
  • Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
  • Previous experience of conducting research and project working
Salary and Benefits
  • The successful Lead Psychologist will receive an excellent salary of £38,400 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent part time role working 22.5 hours a week.
