The College is an excellent working environment characterised by happy, well‑motivated students and innovative and enthusiastic teachers. Following our recent inspection in April 2024, Uckfield College has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted, both as the overall judgment, and in each of the different categories that are evaluated. The English department is housed in our new main school building.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly skilled English teacher to join our forward‑thinking team at Uckfield College as a Lead Practitioner, who will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team to improve the educational outcomes of our students. We need someone who wants to become a beacon of excellent practice in a classroom environment, whilst supporting SLT to drive up standards in the classroom for all our young people. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and fast‑track your career toward senior leadership roles, working closely with the Curriculum Leader for English on impactful initiatives.

Working at Uckfield College means joining a vibrant, dedicated and skilled team, who are committed to working collaboratively to achieve real excellence for our students.
