Job description
Overview

As our Lead Photographer, you'll be at the heart of documenting life in the RAF, from ceremonial events and graduations to technical photography and PR campaigns. This is a rare opportunity to highlight the RAF by using social media to combine creative storytelling with a meaningful mission, supporting defence operations and showcasing the incredible work of our armed forces. This role is full time, working between 32 - 40 hours per week (hours to be discussed) based onsite at Shawbury.

Responsibilities
  • Capture high-quality photography and videography at RAF events, engineering incidents, and official ceremonies
  • Manage and maintain image libraries and digital content systems
  • Edit and enhance images to meet professional standards and creative briefs
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure media is cleared and compliant for publication
  • Support aerial photography tasks, including emergency response documentation
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • You\'ll either have completed Defence Photographer (CN5300) Phase 2 training at the Defence School of Photography (DSOP), with Phase 3 training in Digital Video Professional Techniques (DVPT) and Defence Media Operations Photography (DMOP), or be able to demonstrate suitable and appropriate civilian equivalents

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
