Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in England is seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to lead its Medicines Efficiency Team. This role involves overseeing cost-saving initiatives for high-cost medicines, collaborating with pharmacy and clinical teams, and contributing to the department's strategic development. Ideal candidates will have a Pharmacy degree, significant clinical experience, and leadership qualifications. The position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work across various Trust sites.

Qualifications

  • Registered with GPhC.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Significant post-qualification experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a programme of horizon scanning projects to identify savings opportunities.
  • Manage relevant financial and workforce resources within the Pharmacy department.
  • Oversee the identification, implementation, and evaluation of medicines optimisation initiatives.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to compile reports based on evidence
Good interpersonal and negotiating skills
Ability to prioritize workload under pressure

Education

Pharmacy degree (master's level, 4 years)
Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent
Registered Independent Prescriber
Formal leadership and management qualification
