We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Oracle Database Engineer to join our team and take part in a business critical migration project. This individual will be responsible for leading workstreams to transition from legacy RDBMs to Oracle, on a massive scale, ensuring a scalable, high-performance, and future-proof architecture.
The role requires deep technical expertise in multiple RDBMS technologies. It demands hands‑on expertise in database administration, architecture, migration, replication, infrastructure, and application ecosystems, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with application, development, and infrastructure teams across the business.
The right individual will be proactive and used to working in a fluid, changing environment. They will take ownership of their work and will thrive on defining the trajectory, planning and owning a path from where we are to where we need to be. Going out and getting the job done by influencing colleagues and leadership will be critical to success.
Automation will be a large part of this project. The scale of the migration will be such that all aspects of future operations will need to be covered with automation, at scale. We will be designing and building a full set of tools to manage the entire operation. Our responsibilities will be to build the ansible playbooks to perform the tasks. Working closely with a set of software engineers who will be designing the interface in front of our playbooks.
