Overview

Job title: Lead Mechanical Engineer – Hydraulic Systems

Location: Weymouth, Filton, Frimley – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £55,000

This is a critical role in the delivery of the product to the customer and will allow you to liaise with high level stakeholders and develop a lasting career with BAE Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Review combat designs and provide Mechanical design feedback (Structural, Thermal & Hydraulic) in the Naval/Marine domain
  • Take ownership of specific Mechanical design issues and manage Integrated Combat Systems
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders while managing updates and design inputs
  • Produce CS Mechanical design interface information
  • Perform Engineering calculations and generate associated test specifications and procedures
  • Produce Engineering Drawings in FORAN/CADS5/Viso to BS 8888
Qualifications
  • Essential: Hydraulic / Pneumatic Systems Engineering experience
  • Degree or HND qualification with relevant experience
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership
Desirable
  • Defence Standard knowledge/Experience

The Platform Physical Design Team: Part of the specialist engineering services, the Platform Physical Design and Installation Service’s provides a key role in physically incorporating Integrated Combat System’s Equipment onto our Royal Navy Submarine Fleet.
