Lead Mechanical Engineer

DV Clearance Required

4 Month Initial Contract (Initially a part time contract 3-4 days per week with the opportunity to be full time after the initial 4 months)

On-site in and around London

Our client, a key player in high-security infrastructure projects, is seeking a DV Cleared Lead Mechanical Engineer to join them on an initial 4 month contract with the potential for a permanent or rolling contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of up to 10 Mechanical Engineers across a secure, complex building services environment
• Oversee stakeholder engagement including contractors, clients, building operations, and subject matter experts
• Deliver detailed mechanical design in line with RIBA stages
• Provide expert input on ventilation, cooling and control systems
• Drive the project forward, creating solutions in challenging environments and adapting to evolving requirements
• Maintain a hands-on approach to support delivery when required

Skills/Experience Required:

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and building services
• Strong understanding of ventilation, cooling and building control systems
• Experience working in protected or defence facilities
• Mechanical design experience aligned with RIBA stages
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Must hold active DV Clearance
