Job summary

An innovative technology startup in Greater London is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer. In this role, you'll lead the design, integration, and validation of Drive-by-Wire and PLC-based control systems for autonomous vehicles. You will have the opportunity to shape technical direction while building and mentoring your own team. The position demands strong C/C++ skills and experience in safety-critical systems, offering a competitive salary around £80k+.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years in embedded integration, commissioning, or PLC control environments.
• Proven delivery in safety-critical systems.
• Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end DBW + PLC control system design, integration, and commissioning.
• Build system architecture linking autonomy, navigation, and control with embedded/PLC hardware.
• Develop and validate control algorithms for smooth, responsive, safe actuation.
• Implement communications across ECUs/sensors (CAN, LIN, EtherCAT, FlexRay, Modbus, etc.).
• Lead HIL/SIL integration testing and real-world validation.
