A leading food supply company in the UK is seeking a Lead Driver for their Bicester depot. The successful candidate will support the transport team in delivering products to customers, coach fellow drivers on best practices, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. If you are an HGV Class 1 Licence holder with an in‑date CPC card and Digital Tachograph looking for career progression and an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience then you could become a Lead Driver within our Fresh Direct Depot based in Bicester.
The Lead Driver supports the Transport team with delivering our fantastic products to our valuable customers. This role role‑models the highest quality of service to our customers and acts as a SME on customer routes. With this knowledge this role coaches the drivers in their pod on best practice along routes and how to interact with customers.
You’ll need to have strong communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers alike. You’ll need to be able to prioritise workload keeping the team updated and motivated to work together. You’ll be welcomed into the Transport office space and be willing to participate in development towards day‑to‑day objectives as Lead Driver. You can expect some office‑based administration to complete so you will need to be comfortable with using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as completing paperwork accurately.
