Working Sunday - Thursday 6am to 3pm

If you are an HGV Class 1 Licence holder with an in‑date CPC card and Digital Tachograph looking for career progression and an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience then you could become a Lead Driver within our Fresh Direct Depot based in Bicester.

The Lead Driver supports the Transport team with delivering our fantastic products to our valuable customers. This role role‑models the highest quality of service to our customers and acts as a SME on customer routes. With this knowledge this role coaches the drivers in their pod on best practice along routes and how to interact with customers.

You’ll need to have strong communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers alike. You’ll need to be able to prioritise workload keeping the team updated and motivated to work together. You’ll be welcomed into the Transport office space and be willing to participate in development towards day‑to‑day objectives as Lead Driver. You can expect some office‑based administration to complete so you will need to be comfortable with using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as completing paperwork accurately.

Qualifications
  • Coach drivers on Sysco GB values and expected behaviours and the highest standards of customer service
  • Accompany new and less experienced drivers on routes
  • Able to cover routes that are unknown or less experienced
  • Proper use of and adherence to process for all systems including Convey Samsara Verizon and STS
  • Accurate record of driving hours including POA break and other work
  • Deliver quality products to customers within the local area doing up to 25 drops each day
  • Highly proficient in the use of all delivery media including cages and pallets
  • Resolve customer issues by signposting to correct mechanisms
  • Excellent product recognition to be able to efficiently pick a large range of products from the back of your vehicle at each stop to fulfil customer orders
  • Work and act within company policy and legislation
  • Accurately complete daily driver paperwork and customer invoices
  • Adhere to H&S and Food Safety policies and procedures and any other business requirements
  • Grow and maintain great relationships with customers
  • Participate in trainings and refreshers as needed
