Overview

A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse Specialist to join our Gynaecology team. This is a fixed term funded post within our gynae services. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into our friendly, expanding and evolving team who can develop and integrate this role into our services offered within Gynae and be an advocate for women's health.

The post-holder will be an advanced nurse practitioner and will be responsible for the management of a defined caseload (patients/service-users) and will provide highly specialist nursing support, advice, education, and/or care to that specific group. They will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, including setting standards of care, and support in establishing evidence-based practice within Endometriosis. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will support the ongoing care needs of this cohort of women, manage expectations and support ongoing care needs and symptom control. This involves auditing the overall performance of the service against National guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients within the Gynaecology Endometriosis service, providing highly specialist nursing support, education and care.
  • Assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, and establish evidence-based practice.
  • Set standards of care and audit the service's performance against national guidelines.
  • Lead and shape the service and support ongoing care needs and symptom control for the cohort of women.
  • Support change management, contribute to service development, and work collaboratively within the team and with partners.
Qualifications
  • Qualified nurse with NMC registration and current practice as a nurse specialist.
  • Enthusiastic about women\'s health and able to advocate for these services.
  • Motivated for change management; resilient with leadership and service development skills.
  • Experience as an advanced nurse practitioner is desirable.
