Responsibilities
  • Provide professional legal advice and support primarily in the areas of contract and procurement law.
  • Draft, review and advise on a range of contracts, agreements and procurement documentation.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations and council policies.
  • Support council departments with legal risk management and governance requirements.
  • Advise officers on contract variations, extensions and dispute issues.
  • Assist with interpretation and application of public sector procurement rules.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to support service delivery and decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate legal records and documentation in line with council procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet service deadlines and priorities.

Working Conditions
