Job summary

A leading engineering services firm in Lincoln is seeking a skilled Laser Operator. In this role, you will set up and operate advanced lasers to produce precision parts while ensuring quality control and collaborating with the production team. Ideal candidates should have completed a recognized level 3 apprenticeship and have experience with laser technology. This position offers a rotating shift pattern and is a contract role for 12 months at competitive rates.

Qualifications

Rate: £16.50 ph PAYE / £22.30 UMB

Shifts: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am rotating shifts

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Set up and operate Fibre and NDYAG 5 Axis lasers to produce precision parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing specification.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications.
  • Working Shifts providing continuous production to support customer deliveries.
