Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is for a Landscape Maintenance and Mow Laborer working out of our Plymouth, MA location. The Landscape Maintenance and Mow Laborer is a key member of our ground maintenance or construction team, responsible for a variety of landscaping tasks aimed at maintaining and enhancing the appearance of residential and commercial properties. Based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, this full-time role involves hands-on activities such as planting, mulching, edging, and performing seasonal cleanups. The Landscape Laborer will operate under the guidance of the Landscape Maintenance Foreman or Landscape Construction Foreman, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a robust work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the physical capability to handle demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions. This position does not require mowing but focuses on fundamental landscape installation and upkeep tasks that contribute to the aesthetic and functional value of the environments we service.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Ensure that all mowing, trimming, and edging tasks are performed to high standards, maintaining the health and appearance of turf across various properties.
  2. Operate landscaping equipment efficiently, maximizing productivity while minimizing wear and tear.
  3. Manage and execute seasonal cleanups to prepare landscapes for changing seasons, ensuring timely removal of leaves and debris.
  4. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during landscaping tasks.
  5. Assist in general landscape maintenance duties that contribute to the enhanced appearance and health of client properties.
  6. Maintain and clean equipment and tools post-use to ensure they are in good working condition for future tasks.
  7. Work collaboratively with the landscaping team to complete projects efficiently, sharing tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  8. Maintain a professional demeanor and ensure high-quality results to meet or exceed client expectations.
  9. Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Landscape Maintenance Foreman to address potential risks immediately.
  10. Engage in training and skill development opportunities to improve proficiency in various landscaping techniques and the operation of new equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care, especially mowing, trimming, and yard maintenance, is preferred.
  • Experience with operation and basic maintenance of landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers is highly desirable.
  • Experience with seasonal landscape cleanups, including leaf removal and seasonal transitions, is beneficial.
  • Prior outdoor physical labor experience demonstrates ability to handle job demands.
  • Experience working as part of a team, following supervisor instructions, and collaborating effectively with colleagues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
