Job summary

A leading design firm in the City of London seeks an experienced Landscape Architect to contribute to various project stages, from initial meetings to completion. The candidate should have a degree in Landscape Architecture or a diploma in Garden Design, approximately five years of experience, and strong CAD skills. The role offers the flexibility of part-time work and encourages relationship development with clients and industry professionals.

Qualifications

  • Approximately five years post-graduate work experience required.
  • Proven ability to prepare detailed construction drawings.
  • Experience with planting schemes and plant knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all workflow stages from client meetings to project realisation.
  • Produce drawing packages and visuals based on 3D models.
  • Manage projects and coordinate with clients and consultants.

Job description

You will be part of a small team, contributing to all workflow stages from initial client meetings and site survey through concept and detailed design to full realisation of projects including plant sourcing and site visits at all stages of build. You will be an experienced designer with a thoughtful approach to materiality and space making. You will be hard-working and have excellent inter-personal skills. You will be encouraged to develop relationships with both clients and industry professionals in order to contribute to the positive development of the studio.

Essential
  • A degree in Landscape Architecture or a diploma in Garden Design with approximately five years post graduate work experience
  • Proven ability to prepare drawing packages including detailed construction drawings in plan, section and elevation & specification
  • High level of ability in CAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup or other 3d modelling.
  • Proven ability to produce visuals based on 3d models and enhanced in Photoshop
  • Ability to manage projects, coordinate with other consultants, work within planning and Building Control legislation. You will be required to work closely with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Good plant knowledge and direct experience of completing planting schemes
  • High level of ability to sketch and develop designs by hand
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with a pro-active attitude to all work
  • Fluency in English language
Desirable
  • Experience in preparation of specification documentation
  • Experience in the use of 3d CAD programs such as Vectorworks and Revit
