Qualifications

Barnsley (Hybrid - Office, Site Visits Nationwide & Home Working)


£35,000 to £45,000 + Profit Share Scheme + Car/Allowance + Private Healthcare + Training & Progression


This is an excellent opportunity for a Land Surveyor to join a growing civil and structural engineering consultancy working across a diverse range of major projects, with long‑term progression to potentially leading and developing a dedicated surveying department.


Do you have experience in land or structural surveying? Are you confident with topographical surveys? Are you looking for a role offering hybrid working, a wide variety of projects, and future opportunities to grow and manage a department?


This well‑established consultancy delivers projects for Tier 1 contractors and major clients across data centres, solar farms, BESS, substations, commercial developments, business parks, residential schemes, and water infrastructure. Following continued growth and increased demand across the surveying discipline, the business is expanding its technical team and offering excellent progression potential, including the potential to lead a department.


In this role, you will carry out land and structural surveys nationwide, process point cloud datasets, produce high‑quality drawings and 3D models, and support the planning and delivery of survey operations. You will work closely with the wider technical team and can help shape the surveying offering as the consultancy continues to grow.


The ideal candidate will have strong land/structural surveying experience and proficiency in N4CE, with familiarity in RealWorks or Autodesk ReCap. Additional skills such as drone operation can be fully trained, and full support is provided for drone licence certification.

The Role:


  • Conducting land and structural surveys across the UK

  • Operating terrestrial laser scanners and drone equipment (training provided)

  • Processing and cleaning point cloud datasets using RealWorks/Autodesk ReCap

  • Producing accurate topographical drawings and 3D models in N4CE

  • Planning logistics and supporting project delivery

  • Maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with ISO 9001 & 19650

  • Client-facing communication and attending meetings/site visits

  • Hybrid working with office/site presence on Mondays and Fridays


The Person:


  • Experience in land and/or structural surveying

  • Proficient in N4CE with good CAD standards

  • Familiar with RealWorks and/or Autodesk ReCap

  • Strong understanding of geo-referencing and coordinate systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide

  • Based within commutable distance of Barnsley
