The Land Rights team has an 18 month FTC opportunity for a Junior Support Officer in Kendal or Carlisle.

About The Opportunity

The Land Rights & Consents section is responsible for the acquisition of all land rights, including (but not limited to) all necessary statutory, planning and environmental consents necessary for the development, maintenance and protection of the electricity distribution system on private land, involving overhead lines, underground cables and substations.

The Junior Support Officer role is required to assist the Land Rights and Consents team and the wider business when data pertaining to land rights is required. The role holder will be responsible for the general administrative requirements of the team such as setting up jobs for the Land Rights Officers, scanning, copying, emailing, filing documents, dealing with general enquiries and all other tasks essential to supporting the team.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to and record general enquiries received via telephone, mail and email.
  • Set up jobs in our Case Management System and assign to the relevant officer/surveyor.
  • Liaise directly with Grantors, their land agents and solicitors
  • Liaise directly with other internal departments
  • Title research for operational property.
  • Recording of new applications for street closures and objecting where required – liaising with any internal or external parties this may affect.
  • Investigating returned and stale cheques.
  • Data entry
Who We Are Looking For
  • GCSE’s in Maths and English grade A*-C or level 4-9 or equivalent
  • Working Knowledge of the electricity industry (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the wider area an advantage (Preston to Carlisle)
  • Previous experience in using Land Registry an advantage
  • Good administrative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent financial systems (Desirable).
  • Demonstrable IT skills especially with MS.
