Labourer (FLT License)

Shifts: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:15pm

Location: Bradford

Salary: £27,897.60

Role Summary

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Labourer to support daily factory operations, ensuring the site, storage areas, and working environment remain clean, organised, and safe. In this role, you will assist with material handling, cleaning duties, basic assembly tasks, and the movement of machinery and components using appropriate lifting equipment. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining production flow by supporting various departments, operating FLTs and cranes where required, carrying out general labouring duties, and ensuring housekeeping standards are consistently met both inside and outside the factory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with driving company vehicles (truck, van, or car) to deliver and collect machinery, equipment, and components from subcontractors or customer sites.
  • Pick and prepare parts in line with works orders, deadlines, and production requirements.
  • Safely operate power tools for basic ancillary work as instructed by the Team Leader.
  • Carry out small assembly tasks and ad‑hoc factory support duties where required.
  • Operate the overhead crane, slings, and lifting equipment to safely move machinery and components.
  • Operate forklifts and associated lifting tools as required.
  • Empty all internal and external waste bins and maintain cleanliness of outdoor seating and factory areas.
  • Sweep and clean work areas to maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Return slings, chains, and lifting accessories to the correct storage locations.
  • Follow company safe systems of work, health and safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Flexibly undertake additional duties appropriate to the role, supporting wider factory operations as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment (desirable).
  • FLT or side‑loader licence (preferred).
  • Understanding of health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Good understanding of quality standards.
  • Full clean driving licence up to Category C (medium‑sized vehicles).

  • Strong understanding of written English.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and support production schedules.
  • Able to adapt to changing demands across the business.
