Starting Pay: $18 - $20 per hour, plus stipends for travel.

Are you experienced in construction and eager to learn the drilling and blasting industry with a stable, growing, majority employee-owned company? If yes, we want to meet you! You must be able to follow job-specific instructions provided by Superintendents, the Blasting Supervisor, or Drill Operators. Candidates should be safety-conscious and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Out-of-town and out-of-state travel within the New England region (CT, MA, NH, etc.) and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to company safety procedures and policies
  • Physical agility and ability to work on uneven outdoor surfaces
  • Submitting accurate and signed weekly time cards to the Blaster/Foreman
  • Learning safety procedures for working on construction sites and around explosives
  • Following directions and performing construction labor tasks
  • Occasionally working unsupervised
  • Pumping water to dry blast holes
  • Loading and unloading explosives from trucks
  • Carrying buckets of stemming stone to blast holes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized job site
  • Attending meetings and participating in safety briefings
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Physical requirements:

Ability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally (about 5% of the time), lifting 50 lbs frequently (about 50% of the time), and stooping or bending most of the workday (60-70%).

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and own transportation (out-of-town/state travel required)
  • Successful pass of ATF screenings
  • Experience with construction labor and heavy equipment
  • Willingness and ability to develop skills for higher-level tasks
