Job summary

A leading international business in Pontypridd is seeking a Laboratory Technician to carry out laboratory assays, ensure quality control, and maintain compliance with quality management systems. The ideal candidate will have A-levels in a science subject and at least 2 years’ experience in a QC laboratory. You will contribute to ongoing process improvements in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out laboratory assays and analytical tests according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the quality of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities and results in the QC database.
  • Oversee the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
  • Coordinate external testing, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of samples.
  • Generate and review Certificates of Analysis.
  • Investigate and report any out-of-specification results.
  • Conduct regular laboratory audits and manage retained samples.
  • Review and verify formulations produced by the manufacturing team.
  • Adhere to health & safety and good laboratory practice at all times.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and uphold quality and environmental standards.
Skills and experience
  • A-levels or equivalent in a science subject (ideally chemistry or biology).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a QC laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory assays and analytical methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
