Location: Cambridge (CB4) Duration: Temporary, lasting around 2 weeks Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week, ideally 4 -5 hours per day across 5 days a week (exact hours can be flexible) Salary: £18.80 - £28.20 per hour dependent on experience Job Reference: 35897

Polytec are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Cambridge based client. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with previous laboratory or test-house experience who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assembling laboratory test rigs, conducting testing procedures, and subsequently disassembling and cleaning the equipment
  • Performing standard laboratory tasks such as viscosity measurements, weighing samples, and other routine analyses
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and correctly using the appropriate PPE
  • Following all training and safety protocols, including taking regular breaks as advised
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant laboratory environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a laboratory, test house, or production QA environment is essential
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out hands-on laboratory procedures in a careful, methodical, and safe manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong teamwork capabilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
