Are you a graduate in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related subject looking to start your career in the food industry? Or have you recently finished your A levels and want to take your first steps into a science-based career without going to university?

We're looking for motivated individuals to join us as Laboratory Technicians at our Burton Latimer site. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy lab environment, contribute to product quality and safety, and develop valuable industry skills-no prior lab experience required, just a passion for precision, curiosity, and a proactive attitude.

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Burton Latimer (must be within 45 minutes' travel time)
Type: Full-Time | Competitive Salary
Shifts:

6:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Mon-Fri)

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Mon-Fri)

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Wed-Sun or Sat-Wed)

? Key Responsibilities:

Sample Testing: Prepare and analyse product samples to ensure quality standards are met

Data Management: Record results using SAP and Excel; flag any non-conformities

Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate, clean, and care for lab instruments

Compliance: Support food safety protocols and quality control standards

Sensory Checks: Get involved in taste panels and sensory evaluations

Microbiological Testing: Perform plating and basic troubleshooting

Lab Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organised working environment

Graduates in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology or similar disciplines

OR post-A level students with a strong interest in science and a desire to learn on the job

Strong IT skills - Excel experience is essential

A meticulous eye for detail and a methodical, analytical approach
