What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a rare opportunity to join us in a leadership position within this core subject. St Wilfrid’s is an ambitious community of learners, both students and staff, where individuals are valued, supported and developed. We are seeking an ambitious leader and outstanding teacher to further develop the R.E. KS3 provision and deliver outstanding progress and outcomes for our young people. The successful candidate will be supported and developed, so that as well as contributing to students’ success, and that of the overall School’s, they are personally developed in their career. R.E. is a Core Subject and every student sits GCSE R.E.

The RE Team is made up of 9 dedicated colleagues, with a range of experience. Students study the Eduqas Religious Education GCSE course and the Eduqas Religious Studies A Level qualification at Post-16. The R.E. outcomes are outstanding. At GCSE more than half of students achieved a Grade 6+, with a third of students achieving 7+.

What the school offers its staff

St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth-Form College is a mixed voluntary Academy for 11-18 year olds, based in North Featherstone in West Yorkshire. There are currently 1,538 students in attendance. The school opened in 1963 and has a proud history. We were judged as Good by Ofsted in November 2021; we were also judged as Good by the Diocesan Section 48 Inspection in April 2024, with 7 out of 9 areas judged as Outstanding.

We are proudly part of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust which comprises of three Secondary Schools and twelve Primary Schools.
