Job description
Position Overview

Role: KS2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Start date: January 2026
Contract: January 2026 - July 2026 (full‑time)
Salary: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications).

About the role

Heart of Supply is seeking a dedicated and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and nurturing village primary school from January 2026, working full‑time. This role is initially on a temporary basis, with the opportunity for a fixed‑term contract for the right candidate.

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across upper Key Stage 2, helping them engage in their learning and make steady progress throughout the year. Your role will include supporting whole‑class activities, delivering small‑group interventions, and providing one‑to‑one support where needed. You'll also play an important part in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging independence, and helping pupils develop confidence in both their learning and relationships.

This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a genuinely caring school community, where staff work collaboratively, relationships with pupils are strong, and every child is encouraged to grow, thrive, and enjoy coming to school each day.

About the school

This is a warm, caring and nurturing primary school with a strong sense of community and a genuine commitment to valuing every child as an individual. Staff know their pupils well and create a supportive environment where children feel safe, listened to and encouraged to do their best. The school has a calm, friendly atmosphere and promotes positive behaviour, kindness and respect throughout the day. Pupils enjoy coming to school, engage well with their learning and benefit from strong relationships with the adults around them. It’s a wonderful place to support pupils in their early years of education and to be part of a team that truly puts children at the heart of everything they do.

What you will need
  • Previous experience supporting children in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2
  • The ability to build warm, positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Confidence supporting learning under the direction of the class teacher, including small-group work and one-to-one support
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to encourage positive choices through calm, consistent strategies
  • Flexibility to adapt to different routines, learning needs and classroom dynamics across KS2
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused attitude
  • A patient, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for helping pupils grow in confidence and independence
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential for experienced candidates
What we offer you
  • Competitive weekly PAYE pay
  • Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
  • Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
  • A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
  • Free CPD and ongoing professional development
  • A simple 'Refer a Friend' scheme
  • A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey
