Job summary

A leading hospitality firm in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support food preparation and maintain kitchen cleanliness. The role requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork skills. No formal education is necessary, but candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent will be preferred. Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers


• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials


• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients


• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients


• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects


• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions


• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
