Overview

School Kitchen Assistant

Location: Lowestoft

Working Hours: 10:45-13:15 (paid 4 hours)

Payrate: £12.21/h

Select Recruitment is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a dedicated catering team in a Lowestoft school.

The successful candidate will support the preparation and serving of meals to students, ensuring high standards of hygiene and service are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, presentation, and serving of food and beverages
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the kitchen and dining hall
  • Operate kitchen equipment and undertake washing-up duties
  • Comply with food safety regulations and school policies
  • Support the cook and wider kitchen team as required
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Must have an enhanced DBS or willing to apply
