About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for experienced and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care and supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health and dementia care needs in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person's unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within the UK (desirable)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents and their visitors
  • A commitment to learn about residents as individuals and to create ideas to improve life for the residents
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal

What hours will you work?

Shift times - 08:00 until 18:00

40 hours per week.

You will work 4 shifts across a 7 day week. Weekend work is required.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the catering service to residents in the home
  • Preparing and set up meals and drinks
  • Cleaning crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers and small-scale equipment manually and through machine
  • Cleaning floors, work surfaces, furnishings and related equipment manually and by use of machine
  • Complying with regulations in respect of Health and Safety at work, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.
